Usually I paint one miniature at a time, and most of the time I don't mix paints at all.
But now I'm mixing a lot of paints for a whole batch of miniatures.
The problem is, I always mix to few or to much.

How can I keep/save the mixed paint for the next time?

I remember that the owner of a gamestore said to mix the paint in the package of a blister with cotton wool.
I don't remember it correctly.

So any tips for this?

I use a home-made wet palette if I think I'm going to need the mix soon again. It's simply about 2 cm deep plastic box with layers of sponge-like kitchen towel inside. I pour some water in there, enough for the towel to be thoroughly wet and put a piece of baking paper on top of it. The paint remains wet and usable for a very long time, even days if you have a tight lid over the box between painting sessions. Go and loot the kitchen for supplies! :) You just need a sealable container, any material that is good at holding water, and baking paper.

If I know I'm going to use the mix in many miniatures in the future, I mix a larger amount in an old empty paint pot just by pouring a suitable amount of each in the pot, and shaking carefully.

Or you just wash out an empty paint pot and put it in there...

If you go to the post your workspace thread you can see a sample of my homemade wet pallette in the picture, it is great for mainting paint for days as valpas says. I use a plastic sandwich box filled with cleaning sponges. fill with water until a small layer of unsoaked up water is on top of the sponges, then add the baking paper. My sandwich box has a tight lid for keeping sandwiches fresh and it keeps the paint fresh for a week or more.

*Edit--went and got links so one need not hunt down the post workspace thread.

Well I am looking for a secondary income to supplement this "habit" of ours. Those pictures are of a corner of my basement--as of right now my daughter owns the other three corners, but I think I could convince her to give up one more if you don't mind a princess sleeping bag as your bed.
