What a great idea! I've never been too convinced by using wire, it's awkward to shape and make and a bit dangerous too with all that wire sticking out. Using grape stems seems the way foward for me, it's one of the most preferable options for tree building I've seen. The only draw back is I need to eat a hell of a lot of grapes to make a forest. :D

A great article, with a great result! I would never have thought of using those, i thought they were way to weak! This is giving me plenty of ideas and oppertunities, can't wait to try it out. But I have to eat some grapes first.... :)

When I read the aryicle's title I was thinking about the use of grapes in the game but hell, this is the article I've been waiting for! Finally an easy and cheap way to make them without much issues.

Thanks Azog! Have a pint!

Great article mate!

The proof that you can get good look results using non-expensive materials!

The trees look really great and are not difficult to make.

Cheers mate!

Great article and wonderful final product. It's the almost fiendish simplicity of the basic concept that appeals to me. One of those @Now, why did I not think of that?' ones.

Plus we get to stuff our faces with grapes.

Great article, great trees!

I was wondering about the painting of the trunk and roots, and the solution seems too simple for the incredible results - great to have a simple way to create such magic!

Excellent work Azog - innovative use of natural resources. I give you the One Ring Environmentalist of the Year Award!

So, next time I play a game and use grapes as ammunition for my genuine firing catapult (I have three), I will have a secondary use for the stems.

Azog, great minds think alike! I've made some grapevine trees a couple of years ago, and they've held up quite well. I've used a couple of different techniques, but I'd like to try some of your ideas to add variety to my grape forest! Thanks for posting your article - at some time, I'd like to post one of my own...
