Just wondering where this info is from??

Whilst I love the prospect of being able to buy an armoured thorins company, $190 for the full company is just ridiculous :/

come on...you didnt seriously think they'd make plastic characters? Plus, they'd be more expensive and everyone would scream at GW for being so expensive.

Those prices arent terrible COMPARED to the $45 for one mtd and ft hero, or three foot soldiers who will die just about every skirmish for $25 3 packs. Thats comparing Gw to Gw though.

Personally, what I hate is they purposefully paired weird Dwarves together so you cant just buy the ones we'd all prefer.

For example I may actually pay the $40 for Thorin, Dwalin, and Balin.

Theres no way Im buying another damn Bilbo whos a pointless unit besides scenarios and such.

And Balin/Dwalin with Oin!?

I would probably still by that if they had Dori, or Gloin with them.....but these matches are ridiculous. What a failure of a business model.

Ill keep all my old heros that I already own which are pretty much the same profile.

Yeah, maybe they'll look gorgeous. I dont care. I think most people dont use anything besides:
Thorin
Dwalin
Balin
Gloin
Dori

And the last two ive rarely seen used anyway. If they cant lead a warband, theyre mostly useless to me.

Well I like all the dwarves, especially Bombur, but I don't know their stats and stuff because I don't really play much.
I'm really looking forward to this! If they are nicely done I might even give them a go even for this price. But I agree on yet the next Bilbo-who needs that ? :P

I'll get the whole company, but I think it'll be in bits and bobs. Might try to get Thorin and Bilbo on release, but the rest will have to wait till past xmas. Definitely will get them all, though (although that's true for pretty much whatever they make, so long as it appears in the films and isn't just a repose - this bilbo will be in his laketown coat, hopefully with the mithril shirt, so he's a must have). Shame about the prices - It's irritating that they're not just in a boxed set at around the £50 mark. That would be fair, this is gouging. Not cool, GW. Not cool.

I'm going to assume that these are not armoured ones but the Finecast models that have been shown in the AUJ book before.

Hmm I disagree. Like I said in the other thread, my money's on Armoured Company simply because Thorin's subtitle is "King Under the Mountain" and I expect that means he's in Thror's armour like we saw in the trailer. Although I suppose they could release Armoured Thorin and along with the unarmoured second Company from the rulebook but I highly doubt GW would do that...

I could be totally wrong though as the other Dwarves are simply listed as "Balin the Dwarf" etc and not "Armoured Balin the Dwarf" for example...

I agree on the £50 mark. Heck I'd go as far as £80. But going by the current exchange rate if GW follow it with their pricing, $190 is roughly £120, and that is just too much in my opinion.
I have no doubts that the miniatures themselves will be fantastically sculpted, I just don't see how GW can justify the price :/

Interesting, was wondering what the release schedule would be like for the next weeks.

Figured it could only be stuff that was already shown in the trailers (e.g. no Dain for a while) - holds true so far.
Well, aside from Thranduil on a horse.. never seen that before! XD

Because fools like me will pay it, presumably. But I'll only do it for middle earth, because they hold so much value to me beyond the cash cost. They and their other products can stuff themselves once Hobbit is through.

40$ is £25, so it's not as expensive as you might think at first.

£25 for three heroes is an alright price indeed. Fingers crossed they have armour, if they do I'm getting Dwalin, Balin and Oin for sure. Maybe Nori, Dori and Gloin.

It's really exciting nevertheless with new releases!

So looks like it's the Dwarfs for the upcoming week. That's good, I have nothing with painting Dwarfs and spend enough money on the Elves already :-D Still, looking forward to see how they turn out.

And fools like me, you speak my mind. All I spend on GW things has to go along with the Middle-Earth theme for me, otherwise it's not worth it for me. But some of the things just appeal so much to me I just need to have them.

Based on GWs current prices, I would say they fit in with the rest, but when you really think about it, £25 for three figueres, that £100 for just 12 Dwarfs :(

Surely however you are getting less for your money though compared to other finecast miniatures as they are only dwarves.

Crys at bad joke.
