How has noone mentioned this before?? In one the older trailers, when that big fat 'Troll' falls on the dwarves at the end? That's no troll, it's the Goblin king! I mean, check out that neck..

I'd you've read the book you'll know what happens to the goblin king.... So might not be too much of a surprise!

Not a surprise in itself, but I feel there's a strong distinction between knowing events that take place from having read the book and seeing the realisation of it/Peter Jackson and crew's imagining on it on the big screen. There's still surprises to be had, even if we know what's coming :)

Exactly, but I suspect that most of us have read the book several times and their will not be any surprises. I was surprised that they did show this in the trailer!

I mentioned this weeks ago - it happens when Bofur says 'Well that could have been worse' and what I originally thought was a dead/unconscious cave troll comes crashing down on top of them and Bofur says (in a very squeezed tone) 'You've GOT to be joking!'
Bofur = James Nesbitt, an actor from Northern Ireland who is famous for looking a bit like me...
