Ooh, nice! Now I want more than just their giant robot hand (Reaver powerfist) and the Dreadnaught drop pod. Sadly, I doubt I'll ever be able to get any of them.

While stock last = We can't be bothered to keep our web site up to date.

We probably won’t get any more for quite some time = We are not going to let customer service get in the way of break time.

They do have time to address the expected customer complaints a head of time. But, they don't have time to address there customer service problems.

I bought one last year, great stuff but terrible packing for such an expensive piece.
the parts came in a plastic bag, thrown in a weak carton box with only a few "air-bags" in.

It's got great detail though, but it still requires a lot of work to put it together, to cut the pieces to fit into each other and to remove all the flash-lines etc.

Once in a while they have it back in stock, but it's always sold out very quickly...
I can't remember if I paid the same as they ask now (£200), nor I can't remember what made me want to buy this for such a high price (Xmas-creed for presents I bet...).
After a year, it's still in it's plastic bag, waiting to get me back in action to build it. I do still admire the piece!

The £200 price Is largely License and tax. Shipping to the US will be a absurd. I am not sure of the exchange rate. But if I am willing to spend the money they should be willing to cast per order.
I expect excuses rather than service from Forge Word.

Weathertop was a short term release previously and it's the same now: limited time only.
Plenty of companies do this kind of thing, it has nothing to do with customer service...

I got the email about this piece and instantly wanted it. Then I saw the price. £200 is never going to happen- will never pay that for a lump of resin however nicely sculpted it is.

I've always seen and experienced the best customer service form FW: they make mistakes fairly often but they always rectify them and prvide replacements/free stuff.

:?

I am glad you are satisfied with FW service. I do not share you experience or opinion. So let us agree to disagree.
Have a Happy New year :!:

why pay £200, when you can build your own? The plans are in the FOTR journeybook, and its a pretty easy basic plan. Plus you can then customise it a little to suit. You just need a set of GW statues to complete the look:

scroll down to weathertop for a look.

The Forgeworld piece is simply the best version of this building out there today. I made my own a while ago and it was an immensely satisfying project, but it's a challenging model and can be very daunting for a newcomer to terrain making. If FW are selling a copy now and you have the cash, then I would recommend you going for it. The price tag is a bit hefty, but to make something of that quality would take over a hundred hours and some significant skills - which not too many people possess.

Well there is always the cheaper version by Thomarillion which is for $60. To me it's just as good to be honest, yes the other one is more detailed.. but it's all good.

Thanks I forgot about Thomarillion. That is a good value. I was going to purchase the Official product more or less to finish the collection. I have one of the display versions I purchased from one of the GW shops before they went out of bushiness. I could easily build one with Hirst blocks. But I did not plain to game with it.
I tied to purchase the Elf bridge from Thomarillion a moment ago. Something seemed to be wrong with the shopping cart. I will try again later. :-D

And of course, there is a guide for making it to a similar standard to the Forgeworld piece right here on the One Ring: kb.php?a=53

While a very nice tutorial it's probably not a good idea to have on the site due to this:

Do not cast any materials that are based upon Games Workshop material. Games Workshop has to maintain a strict policy on this to fight counterfeiters. We would also remind you that reproduction for personal use is NOT an automatic exclusion in respect of copyright protection in many territories worldwide.

That's from GW legal stuff on the website.
