Will the banner effects (in SBG) be the same for the Army of the Dead as for "normal" models? Can't imagine why they wouldn't be, but I thought I'd ask anyway...

What on earth is their paint scheme for the army of the dead. I plan on getting a box of them so I can renact the ROTK Army of the Dead rulebook. Granted, I still need to get another Mordor Troll, but I'm so close to actually being able to play a legitimate scenario for once ><

Are the Mordor Uruk Hai plastic? Only 3 makes me believe they are not.
As for the new Hasirin, I like the original better. He was a "stealthier" pose, more mysterious. The new one looks like a kid running on a playground with plastic knives. Maybe they should be scissors

Nah, the new Mordor Uruk-hai and the Citadel Guard are both metals.

I'm gutted.

taking a direct quote from the magazine: :)
"Like all Banner Bearers, this Army of the Dead banner plays an important part in the game, allowing you to re-roll charge distance and Panic tests."

although i am not sure how you would use it in a regular game. :(

You could use it like a normal banner - except for the dead. Chance to reroll failed fights is always helpful.

They're still on the UK GW site, under Angmar Warriors in the forces section on the left. :)

Sorry if that ruins your dream of plastics!

Yeah thay're still there, what a shame. their darn new search engine is soooo bad. It could have made a great jump start into the army of the dead list

Thanx

I'm ashamed of myself realizing the fact I've yet to post in this thread, so here's me, posting in this thread.

I am loving this release! cannot wait for it, after a couple of Demo games and seeing all of the new models and a few of them in the flesh I can honestly say it's brilliant. I really like all of the new models especially the Army of the Dead, the Gandalf and the new Mordor Uruk-hai.

Already put my deposit on the book a couple of weeks ago and bought myself a few packs of movement trays 8)

It's not really what people expected I see.
There are new models but now they are in metal and not in plastic of what people where talking much.

That stormbringer is not too fluffy with the books I think.

Oh, and it is fun to see how much people are still waiting to buy the new models, when I already assembled some of the Dead and the Ent and got to see to read the new rulebook already. :P

There are plastic Ents, plastic Galadrim and plastic Dead...not too bad for a smaller release like this.

Yes, I know that there are plastic Ents and Dead and that plastic Elves will come this summer. But, I especially meant that models like Mordor Uruk Hai would be in plastic, after all that's where people were hoping for and telling me. But, forget what I said, I think people can be happy with some new releases in plastic. And metal models are more detailed.

This blister contains one metal Son of Eorl. There are two variants available and this blister may contain any one of the variants. Model supplied with a 25mm round base.

They've corrected a part of their mistake... now it's just one of them on a tiny base

All of this just looks amazing really,

The new Uruk-Hai stuff is to die for, since the plastic release of the scouts i had new faith in GW, and it seems to be coming in numbers now, i'm considering collecting some Uruks again, on the side of my Elves for WotR.

The Gondorian and Rohan armies while look better then ever still don't appeal to me like they used to, it seems that with expansions they can't really improve on what already was perfection, though the efforts don't go unnoticed thats for sure.

AotD look really, really good, this has been something i have marked for some time now, and it really pays to wait for it, i will pickup a box or two in due time i hope.
