Ooooh can't wait... I am just terrified of the no doubt eye watering prices... Also if the Perrys have gone from GW, will they have already done the required figure sculpting work or will someone now be in charge???

Plus I believe the Perrys have Extras roles in the movie, should be interesting to see...

Either way I cant wait for the movie in December

Dwarf Cavalry - WooHoo!

on 1.34 I spotted armoured Mirkwood CAVALRY !
if you look good you can distincues(?) the typical mirkwood helmet shape with the two sides ornaments... whoow... I wonder If GW will make them all!
It is maybey a bit much, galadhrim knights, rivendell knigts and mirkwood knights.. but one can hope.. ;)

Almost certainly it's all done, and either being manufactured or boxed up or done at this moment. These things have a long lead time, and the Perry's left at about the right time to suggest they've been holding on for the Hobbit, to get it done, which is a wonderful gesture from them, I think. Chances are some of it was in early stages quite some time ago, then the three movie suckerpunch happened and GW had to scramble to produce a whole extra movie worth of content (hence DoS being a bit of an odd bunch of stuff, mostly in resin for quick production). If tere's anything that shows up in the film that GW aren't prepared for, there are other sculptors who have done good work on this line, and they can fill in what's missing easily enough.

I keep watching the trailer, and it seems to just get better each time. I can't wait for December, though I confess to feeling a bit like Samwise at the edge of the Shire. One more film, and I'll never be looking forward to a PJ Middle Earth movie again. There's something sad about that, but I have no doubt the film will rise to the occasion.

Looks like a lot of new stuff for the good side, I'm just wondering what evil could get to even things out? (Apart from Smaug of course)

If my memory serves me correctly, Pippin's song is actually a song from the Hobbit book - they just used it in RotK. Besides that point it has very fitting lyrics for the Battle of the Five Armies and Bilbo's last chapter.

A brief list of possibles -
Standard Mirkwood Warriors (1.34)
Mirkwood Cavalry (1.34)
Smaug
Armoured Company
Balin's Chariot
Ram Riders
Mounted Gandalf
Mounted Legolas (maybe)
Bard w/ hand weapon?
Bard's Militia
Armoured Thranduil (another.... let's hope they don't mess it up this time)
Gundabad Banners
Bolg
New Bilbo
Bats
Necromancer
White council in War Forms
Human Bowmen of some kind (1.29)
I doubt there'll be new Dwarven foot troops, having watched it again, and again (and again) i can't spot any.
similarly, i see Thranduil dueling with about 8 orcs but they look to be Gundabads so i don't hold much hope.
Looks like Bard is hard at work arming his people - they look to be human workers but with Erebor equipment. the spears and shields are of the same style.
I really want a box-set... NOW

Edit - after a moment's thought, i agree with With NarsilReforged - where would Balin get a team of harnessed and trained boars. Plus this is doubtless what the actor of Dain meant when he said the Iron Hill Dwarves would ride in on boars.

They are Elven Archers, almost 100% sure ! :)
In fact I think the light is misleading and they are the same golden armoured mirkwood warriors.

I doubt that. My money is on Thorin's company. I think Balin is driving based off the beard and clothing color. There's 4 dwarves on it

Meh. Probably all very spectacular, but I don't *feel* much in terms of atmosphere - despite that great song playing over it. Doesn't look as if any of the Hobbit movies will be able to compete with the LotR trilogy that preceded it, but I sincerely hope this last one will at least be better than the previous two.

Well you are not the only one, christopher Tolkien seems to Dislike the hobbit movies ALOT. And I can understand. But for me, It is alle extra content of a World I love, if the movies are not so in spirit of the books , so be it. They are movies not books, so of course it's something different. But it is definently something extra to inhale from a already beatifull created world.
And all the marketing.. well people want to make money, and the hearts of men are easily corrupted.......

My feelings exactly! I don't feel the urge to re-watch any of the first 2 films. I might even ignore they happened at all. I just hope the last film won't be such longwinded shallow Devlan Mud as the first 2 films.

Well Lotr made lotr popular, so now we have 'popular' movies..
But I am not one to sit and watch sad, just as the books, the hobbit can't compete with the lord of the rings, but it is fun nontheless :)

It looks good - I hope the Iron Hills mob are all on Ibex and not on boars - it is a shrewd move. And lots of armoured Elves. And hopefully Lady Galadriel will get medieval on some orcs :)
