I decided to trade my Dwarf army plan for an Elf one, seeing as the ebay market for Dwarves is sh*t :) .

Leader: Galadriel, Lady of Lothlorien - 175

Heroes: Celeborn, Lord of Lothlorien - 175
Haldir - 75

Galadrim Regiment - 6 coy, shields - 300
Galadhrim Archers - 3 coy - 150
Galadhrim Archers - 3 coy - 150

Galadhrim Knights - 3 coy, bows - 150
Noldor Guard (High Elf Cohort) - 3 coy - 180

Any advice (besides "Ally in a LOT of WOMT)?

I used to play a Dwarf army too, and found the army limited, however for WOTR I feel that the Elves are a much harder army to field. The best army to collect from EBay is the Goblins, always lots of them to buy cheap.

I hate goblins, so I'll stick with Elves (though I've just found a BIG dwarf lot, so that Dwarf army might kick off anyway). Any advice on the list?

For the Elf Army because your army is so expensive you need to take advantage of some of the cheaper Epics. Therefore I would always take the Elven twins Elladan and Elrohir, only 35 points each is too good to pass up, I would keep Haldir as again a very good cheap Epic.
Also if it was me I would swop Celeborn for Legolas, I think for just 25 points more Legolas's abilities are far better unless your thinking you really need 2 Magic casters. If you did need 2 magic casters I would field Thranduil instead. Again just my opinion, what do you think?

I kinda agree with Jaziotus on his point about Celeborn. Thranduil or Legolas seem more viable options, except if you want a themed Lothlorien force.

Hm, I could make something up to make either of them fit into Lorien (counts-as Rumil, for example). What to swap out for Legolas or what to take with Thranduil?

EDIT: I'll take Legolas instead of Celeborn, as I lost the Celeborn lot on ebay (I really am totally out of luck :) ) and I already have Legolas. What should I dump to get those 25 pts extra, a coy of archers, a coy of infantry or a coy of knights? And what fortune to take to fill the other 25 pts that frees up?

I don't think you should dump the knights 2 companies of defence 5 Cavalry isn't going to survive very long, so your choices are either archers or warriors. I'd drop the warriors just because I find four companies is enough with shields and it makes them more manoeuvrable.

For the remaining 25 points you only have three choices of fates and fortunes, Ancient Lore (nullify one of these any kind of Bane, Expert rider, Pathfinder, Prowler, Skilled rider, Spirit grasp, Spirit walk or Terror for a turn, helpful every so often but not really that useful), Counterspell (stop one spell once, WoTR seems to suggest 1 Might = 25 points so being able to use a free will of iron is quite nice against a Nazgul heavy army or and Uruk-hai army lead by Saruman) and Forgotten Fortification (increase defence of a building up +2 helpful if you are using building terrain and planning on putting a formation of galadhrim archers in them, just make sure your enemy doesn't get to it first  )
