Is it right to be able to play Aragorn and Elendil together in the same company? giving you a +4 to hit? the reason i ask is they carry the same sword can they be fielded together? or shall we not get too tied up with the details of the film?

Playing by the letter of the rules, it's perfectly legal. However, theme-wise I wouldn't do it (not to mention the fact that your opponent will not be happy with you!).

I've seen this house-ruled (it's the same sword after all), and hopefully they'll add a restriction when they update the FAQs.

Not really. I remember a list that GW posted a while ago, an arnor army which included Aragorn and Arvedui.

'Remember the b****y story, GW!' was what I was thinking all that time. It was good when you couldn't have aragorn and denethor in the same force in Legions of middle earth either.
It is legal, as said, but think, how many Lords of gondor, Chieftains of the Dunedain etc are between these two individuals. It makes no sense.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Aragorn wasn't even born when Elendil died.

As a player that tries his best to keep a force Tolkien-themed force, if not actually trying to play forces modeling those in the stories, I would still laugh to see it try to take out a Nazgul Spam force.

to get in the story line I should give elendil an other name, and for fighting add dain with epic rampage + call heroic fights to kill all in your path(adding legolas with swift strike makes it only a more deadly and bulky strategy)
