Time: Poll goes up January first
Contest: Happiest, most party-like models
Useable models: Hobbits
This should make for interesting painting challenge, what with models being hobbits/halflings/tiny ring bearers. Please note that they cannot be standing in the tall grass fir the submission picture: Never take hobbits knto the tall grass. You will lose them. :D Good luck!

Example ideas-feel free to use them if you wish-
Bandobras Bullroarer Took with a golf club
Merry and Pippin with ale
Bolger holding a holiday item

I have ordered my models for this and will be doing a little diorama... you could say a duel but more friendly and festive!

Once I have some more bits I'll post a WIP :)

Sounds good!
I think I might jump in on this one and give some ale to either Merry or Pippin, or both, but heads up my painting is not too great... Be a nice change to paint one or two at a time rather than 36 or 48 at a time...
I think, in the end, I may do both and place them on a ruined wall or something. I dunno.
Probably will do clay or something for the mugs.

Idea: will the duel involve giant candy-canes?

I always thought it would be fun to kitbash a Santa Radagast's sleigh, but I never get around to doing it. Finding 8 tiny reindeer might be the hard part.

Gonna start painting this weekend. May use clay or something for the mugs.
Just a note, my entry pic will have Merry and Pippin together, but only one will be my entry.

Hey Klemzy! Remember, models are up for negotiation as well. Gandalf with a Santa hat, for instance.

Goblin Town Crier, I think we know who will win... Whoever has the biggest mug if ale! Actually, I don't drink, but, you know, the hobbits.

Alrighty then, here are finally some proof photos of what I am getting up to for this project...
Its gonna be Merry just finishing off a fine looking snowman and Pippin jumping up behind and throwing a snowball at him!

These Moria version of the hobbits are just too perfect for this month's theme eh CaveDragon?! hehe

They are gonna be on this little plinth made from a fence post cap, although I have done a fair bit of scenery building this is gonna be my first time doing a diorama and this first time I attempt snow and water effects ever.

This is my progress on it so far (pre-converting the Hobbits) and I am about to pour in my first layer of water if I can get a good seal round the edge, wish me luck!

Nice!
And we are using the same models, in the same poses and such.
Just a note, my models were already painted(horribly, it was my first paint-job and I did not realize I had to stir my paints that had been siting for 10+ years). I will be painting over the, completely, so I will post a picture of a base-coat as my proof.

So I have been delayed, something popped up, and I did not get to painting yet. Will try to do it soon.

Hehe I did in fact not get a good seal and my water effects were all over the table this morning! So I've poured a new batch and will see how that went this afternoon. Fingers crossed!

I remember one of Hasufel's videos... They were making Osgiliat, but the construction material was suposed to look like it was sinking into the water. Only problem is, it was actually sinking into the water(resin)! Disintegration is fun!
