I voted for edge67 though I really like all of them (how can you not like a fully painted, and well exectuted rendition of the supreme Dark Lord)

The reason is that no matter how excellent (sorry), PowerofWill and Montizzle was too un-Saurony ie unrealistic for hm, whilst for some reason, General Elessar and valpas' enttry make Sauron look plasticy. I dio not prerend to be able to do abetter job than any of you. It's just those were my only ways of narrowing it down.

Ha ha thats brilliant - well done you :yay: Your model is awesome by the way Mr Montizzle, the red stripe brings something different to the usual Sauron colour schemes. Well done mate. Its a difficult challenge this one as Sauron has a very limited colour pallet and all the entries are pretty equally excellent. I like what yourself and POW have done with the introduction of freehand and colour to your models - makes them stand out from the crowd in my opinion. Look forward to more of your work.

I thought the same, that Sauron's pallet was very limited. Aside from Nasa as inspiration for stripes marking out the commander, my time in the Army taught me the importance of identifying leaders easily. I felt he should not have the eye as his heraldry yet, that red was his way of differancing from morgoth, and I didn't even think of using Orodruin which was done so masterfully by POW. I must say, that vote of confidence is just what I needed.

Well, a 10ft high warrior with huge spikes on his helmet and a mace larger then your body is very difficult to identify  . No, just kidding. It was very well painted, but the red stripes just took a little away from that "dark master of all evil" aura that should surround Sauron IMO, which was what Valpas' perfectly captured on his Sauron.

I agree with Telchar about Sauron, except I think valpas' looks more plasticy than edge67, who also has a nice scenic base.

Another great job valpas. And the rest of the entries were good as well. General Elessar, big ups to you because I see a major difference from now since way back then to your Aragorn entry, keep up the good work.
