@Damian, very etheareal Witch-king, he looks very good, especially how you've made the glowing eyes, cast light over the areas near it :yay:

@mastermanje, I standby what I said, I didn't mean 'bad' I meant 'worse'.

I actually finished! I was going to paint Theodred, but there were so many Rohan heroes already and Elendil was just begging for it. Here he is:

Being the middle of the night I had to take these with a desk lamp, so sorry some of the colours are a bit washed out. I had a bit of fun layering silver which is not normally something I bother with :P. Quite proud of him though, especially the trim on his surcoat(?) as seen in the last picture (it goes right up as well). For nostaligia sake, here he is next to the second metal model I ever painted (this photo is not a submission):

I think I've managed to improve somewhat over the years. Just goes to show that there's hope for all of us!

Hi Guys. I had a bit of a brain meltdown and somehow convinced myself June had 31 days and found myself with less time that I had planned to finish off my entry. There's probably a lesson there but it's one that I will never learn.

Anyway, I think it's only the shield which I'm not totally happy with and the overall tone is what I was hoping for when I started.

The good ones (Elizabeth of Britain, Beatrix of the Netherlands) are.

That Witch-king is badass Damian, you managed to get a lot out of a relatively simple miniature, well done 8)

I presume you mean Elizabeth I, not Elizabeth II then.

I cropped the images as MMS suggested, so hopefully they look a bit better.

Can't stand Elizabeth II, or her family, I wish we could just get a President instead.

The Royalty in this thread are centainly too good to be true. I'm likemindedly torn between some amazing entries this month, I think there are tooo many Royals in LotR, which is the cause for all this mess. (A Good mess nonetheless)

Anyway, the Voting Thread won't put up itself (hint, hint).

You'd have liked Tony Blair as head of state?

No, but he technically was anyway as the Queen is in charge of nothing, but doesn't USA and New zealand etc have a Prime Minister as well as a President. I wish Oliver Cromwell's legacy had been more successful.

Ha, 'cos the British people can be trusted to vote in the right guy, yeah. With our national obsession with moronic celebrity cack.

We'll just end up copying the Americans and get Dynastic politics and nepotism. The Kennedys, The Bushes, a Clinton as president and his wife becomes Secretary of State. You get all the power because you were born or marry into a rich political family. Sounds like absolute monarchy and feudalism to me, not democracy.

It's not just the USA though, democratic countries make some dumb choices of who to lead them when personality and celebrity is brought into the mix, Berlusconi anyone?

Be careful what you wish for. Liz isn't Galadriel, but she's not Dubya either.

Back on Topic. This month has had loads of strong entries and I'm looking forward to seeing them all in a voting thread.
