If Gandalf casts blinding light on an enemy formation within a defensible terrrain and the enemy formation fails their courage test and have to retreat a D6, does this mean they have to leave the building? Also if the enemy formation do have to retreat / fall back a D6 and leave the building and are Uruk-hai with crossbows does this also mean that they cannot shoot in the shoot phase as they have moved?

I think both answers are in the WOTR FAQ on the GW site.

Yes, the FAQ answers this. It's in the section of the FAQ on defensible terrain and says that magically induced falling back does not force them out of the terrain. Since that is the case, the issue of the crossbows becomes moot.

It's interesting, this situation actually came up on Saturday in a game I was playing in.
