Just a little question, why are all the moderators ringwraiths?
Also, what are the coins for?

Well first off hello and welcome to the group. Second the coins well you can just donate those to me. AS far as the mods being ringwraiths it is just a nicer way of saying moderator also since ringwriths were once kings and in charge it is self explanitory They rule. Basically click here and read the rules http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7581

You must have had some bad experience with mods in the past to say wraiths are nicer term for them ,though I do hear they don't sleep and eat kittens

The term 'Ringwraiths' is not really meant to make it sound nicer or something like that. The actual use goes no further then making this site a little bit more Lord of the Rings - if you understand what I mean. And since we are the guys that have to do all the evil we're the ringwraiths :)
(Another example, Proofreaders are named Lorekeepers)

Coins can be used to buy things, which can be done via your profile. The amount of items reflects your rank. Furthermore there's nothing special about it, it's just a nice little feature to have some fun with. Ranks aren't important on this site, the main aspect is plain fun. Extra coins can be obtainend by contributing to this site, which does not include your amount of posts. The more coins, the higher your rank, the more you (normally) did for this site.

The original name for Moderators on this site was 'Ring Bearers' - but it seemed silly to have lots of them at the same time. So we chose 'Ringwraiths' instead. It fits in with the name of the site really and just adds a bit of 'flavor' to the place.

Or, at least that's what we tell everyone.

The real reason is because these people have become ensnared by the lure of the One Ring and have slaved their wills to its power for all eternity. Their task is to spread terror amongst the mortal races of this community and do the bidding of the Dark Lord(s). Or something.

Lets not be mean to all the moderators. :(

They are people to , and not weird kitten eating aliens from the recently discovered planet of Turnip , though sometimes with a severe coffee addiction. hehehe .......

The Rank Nazgul is just to keep the LOTR vibe in the site.

The Gold coins are mostly used as a "Token of Gratitude". You give them if someone has really helped you with a Question that has buggered you for an Age or found some exclusive miniature pictures with he scanned from a version of a draft copy of White dwarf stolen from the GW headquarters itself , a boobytrapped house of horror and death , where people are tickled with sculpting toles until they are mad enough to announce another price rise and still face the hobbyists with a big smile , that is due in spring 2009.

hehe ..... Coffee addiction .....

Click on your nickname (posts, online list,...), it will take you to your profile. There should be a 'buy' - button.
