Thank you Feanor and slinky! I really appreciate it :)

I have mostly been working on terrain lately and it has been a while since my last update so I thought I would show off what I've been working on. It has taken a while but I'm finally ready to play Farmer Maggot's Farm scenario from Scouring of the Shire!

Since I can't buy any new minis from GW, I'll probably be dipping into my backlog to try and clear some stuff out so who knows what I'll be working on next!

Looking good

Thank you all for the kind words! Hanzo, welcome to One-Ring! Don't be a stranger and please consider showing off what you're working on here in the WIP as well :)

Been quite a while since I had an update. Unfortunately, I've run into space issues and have had to press pause on making Shire terrain for now. I hope to get back into it once I clear some room but for now, I've put that aside. I did manage to hit a painting milestone and finish my first dozen ruffians off.

Additionally, I finally finished a mini that I had originally intended to enter in the Golden Demon this year. The mini didn't quite turn out the way I wanted and parts aren't as sharp as I hoped they'd be but I'm still proud of Theoden and glad I invested a lot of time in him to paint him as well as I could.

This thread will probably be quiet for a bit as I've been painting up minis for a different game. I do intend on some dioramas to keep my participation in MESBG up and whenever I have progress to show off there, I'm sure I'll be back :)

Theoden looks amazing. You should be proud of him. I'd love to be able to paint that well.

Agreed, Theoden looks really great. I like the colors on the shield, especially the touch of red.

The Ruffians look fearsome, too. I look forward to seeing them in some scenarios. :)

Thank you both for the kind words :) To follow up on my previous news, I've basically shelved MESBG gaming as I don't have a lot of room for the terrain until I move in 2021 and I found another game that suits my limited space better. While that means I won't be updating this nearly as much, I am taking on some diorama projects I've always wanted to do instead because I love Middle Earth too much to be away from it for long (shocking!).

This guy isn't done yet but he's probably 90% of the way there. I'm so proud of the freehand I thought, I might as well share what I've done :)

I'll try to keep the updates coming as I make progress on this diorama. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy!

That coat is beautiful. Do you follow any online tutorials? If not, you should make one. I'd follow your channel.

Wowee, that's handpainted? Very impressive, as is the rest of the figure.

What other game are you playing instead of SBG? I dabble in other areas myself.

Thank you all for the kind words!

GKA - You are too kind! I don't know how to begin making a Youtube video and while I have done a few tutorials on my website, nothing on this topic unfortunately.

I didn't follow them closely but if you wanted to try and do freehand like this, take a look at the videos GW has released for painting Harlequins. I used a lot of those techniques. The biggest key is staying patient and correcting any mistakes you make. I very nearly got impatient at the end and made some mistakes on Alfrid so I'd say if you can avoid that, you'll do well :)

Dave - I'm playing Fallout Wasteland Warfare since I've always enjoyed the video games and the post-apocalypse setting is second only to Tolkien's world for me in terms of cool wargaming environments. I've only gotten one game in so far (there's a write up on my site as well if you're interested) but I had a blast and would recommend it to any fellow solo wargamer if Fallout appeals to them.

I finally finished the Master of Laketown diorama so I wanted to share a couple of pictures of it with you. If you want to see more or read about the creation process, you can do so at my website linked below. It will take me a bit of time to get ramped up on the next one but I have more MESBG dioramas planned for the nearish future 8)

I hadn't intended it to be two years since my last update but I got mixed up in a lot of Warhammer display pieces, among other projects. I'm back and will be focusing on more diorama/display pieces within Tolkien's world. Here's a look at what I've been up to. The base is yet to come.

Its always meaningful to get feedback from another skilled hobbyist so thanks for the kind words! Here's a look at the finished piece. My photos could be improved further in the future but I'm pretty happy with how it all came out.
