I have always wanted an Eomer Marshall of the Riddermark model, but the actual model is impossibly hard for me to find. So I've decided to convert my own using the regular (and much more common!) Eomer mounted model.
The Marshall of the Riddermark model and his horse are unique. Eomer is looking back, sword raised high and situated behind him, unhelmeted, and is wearing a cape. The regular Eomer mounted model is looking down, sword raised in front of him, helmeted, with no cape.
My first step was to cut the model in half and turn him so he was facing the same direction as the original. Also I had to cut off the head and turn it, and also tip it up a bit. I had intended on making an unhelmeted version but I am not good enough to sculpt faces yet. I also had to sculpt a cloak. After the cloak was done, I fixed the plume on his helmet. Also, part of the problem when I cut off his head was that I ruined his chin, so I had to resculpt that as well.
Then the horse had to be redone. I used Theoden's horse because it was armored similarly to the Marshall of the Riddermark model. I cut off the head and two of his legs. The legs on the original model look like they are trying to stop quickly. I used his legs, just cut them and positioned them correctly, and added a plastic leg because it was already pretty straight. I bent the other ones into position. I cut the neck off at a different angle and then glued it back on and resculpted the mane.
*updated the images, Eomer is finally finished!*
I still have to add a shield to the side of the horse, and then I'm finished!
