Post subject:  My Massive Mordor Army (And Allied Forces)
(Not sure if this is where I should be posting this article, first post ever!)

I've been collecting The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle miniatures since 2001, on and off. Back in 2009 I decided to restart the forges of Mordor and start are rebuild, I had back then, no more than 50 troops..... 24 Mordor orcs, 6 wargs riders, a Orc commander and standard some Easterlings and the Dark Lord himself :sauron: !!

After a few years I did my first big display, which numbered around 350 troops, the next was around 600 troops. In 2013-4 I did my first major display, which was around 950-1,000 troops. Then it went up to 1,280! I mainly brought job lots of Mordor orcs and Haradrim off eBay. I also brought a couple of trolls each month for a year, I only 3 18months ago, now I have 22 Mordor trolls! I've always found Easterlings a pain to get in bulk..... people don't like to part with them I guess.....

Back in July 2015 I did a major set up and display, (please see photos), I needed a fold out table ha! This Mordor and Allied army numbers around 1,800 troops. Around 1,200 Mordor orcs, 250 Easterlings, 300 Haradrim, with other troops and commanders filling the battle lines. I was very happy, but it's by no means a finished army, my painting will be getting started this year!

If I did another display soon, which will happen hopefully :) , my army would number around 2,250 troops. I've been meaning to join this site for a while, I'm glad I did, I love the Hobby and the people, It's another way I can enjoy the wonders of Middle-Earth! Thank you! 8) :orc:

Well a friend of mine got a big dwarven army as well... 400 durin´s folk warriors, around 200 rangers, 200 erebor dwarves, 60 grimhammers, 120 khazad guards, 80 iron guards, along with 12 ballistas, several dozen captains and such + the characters and he told me soon he saw this army, he would invite Sauron 1990 to even step close to erebor and he would be hailed with shoot and axe and break the spine of that Mordor Army after 2/3 days of full battle :P

I dont mean this in a negative way but....what is your plan to do with all those especially 1,200 orcs.

I cant even see a battle involving my whole group/league where we could use that many.

I'd just like to add, I have about 1,600 Mordor Orcs now, what can't I do with that kind of horde is the question really.... Ha! It's a very addictive hobby, but I love it!

If you're after some Easterlings more for display than for gaming, I have a bunch of swordsmen and archers as well as 5 Kataphrakts.

Not that you *really* need more! :lol:

I suppose the downside is that you would need a purposed gaming facility that can be locked to keep pets/small children/Tooks out, as any game you can play with a substantial fraction of that force is going to take days, even if you use the Kings of War rules of something similar that plays a lot faster than WotR.
But we can all aspire to such things :)

Some things to notice here, 1) this is what happens when you leave Sauron alone for any length of time, huge armies mass 2) the OP does not list a location, which means he and this army are likely in Dol Guldur right now plotting against the rest of us....so this picture leads me to believe I better get my Gondor army up to snuff fast, this guy means business :D
