@DMS - if I ever come into money, here’s my 5 step plan

1 - buy 1 of every LOTR and Hobbit model in the range
2 - hire you for a full year (or longer) to paint every one of them perfectly as you do.
3 - spend a small fortune shipping those models from the UK to the States
4 - Buy approximately 50 IKEA display cases
5 - Proudly display the best collection of models ever assembled

Love your work man, every update is a great. Thanks for sharing

Haha Ja33 thank you so much. I have quite a few clients in the US who are collectors. The next Smaug I do is going to the US. Dread to think what the postage will be lol.

Hey! Glad to see you're still posting updates here! I am ashamed to admit that I pretty much moved completely to Instagram, but it's just not the same. Doesn't feel much like a community over there imo. I plan on posting here much more frequently, gotta keep this forum going!

You're painting looks great, as always! Really like the Smaug, I can only imagine how long that must've taken. I painted my fell beast by hand, and the wings alone took me forever!
I really like all the Fellowship models. One thing that stands out to me is just how consistent your painting is. The models you paint duplicates of look nearly identical. I realize batch painting helps a lot with that, but it still deserves a shout out.

I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Hey PoW - I didn't even know you were on insta. I've found you and will follow you on there as well. Thanks for your comment buddy its much appreciated.
Yeh batch painting does help a lot with the consistency but it can also be incredibly tedious lol.

Glorfindel ft and mtd next up. Been a long time since I last painted this set up. Loved working on them - fantastic models.
I wrote a full step by step painting guide for these two which is now up on the patreon page. For more information on the guides here is a LINK

Very nice, as usual. :yay:

I've always liked those models, too, despite the perhaps-too-narrow face. It probably helps that I liked the character from the books, and that the color scheme is a nice change of pace.

Thanks for the follow, I appreciate it!

Glorfindel looks great! The NMM on the sword(s) is really nice and smooth. Though, to be fair it's pretty darn smooth painting all around lol. Good job!

@DaveT - thanks! Haha yeh I agree these two suffer from the strange skinny face thing that some of the elven poses seem to have going on.

@PoW - Thanks man. Nice of you to point out the NMM, I'm still very much a beginner when it comes to NMM.

I'm so glad a new Elrond has been released ....... with a bit of luck that means I'll never have to paint this monstrosity of a set ever again as long as I live lol

Wonderful color scheme and model!

What don't you like about him? From your painted model he looks like a fantastic sculpt :D

Thank you.

The quality of the sculpt is awful due to the finecast material. |The pose itself is fine but the amount of remedial prep work involved to get the model into a state where it is paintable is ridiculous.
