A bit of an unusual work-in-progress thread, but still of relevance to the hobby and the community... I thought you might be interested to see how things are progressing on the redesign of the website, so I'll be posting a number of screenshots as I reach different milestones. In the attachment below, you can see that the banner logo looks nice but the rest of the page is a dog's breakfast. Well, that's because I'm working on the dropdown menus at the moment and they're in a state of severe mangled-ness. Once these are done, I'll start working on the layout of the forum index, chatbox and posting areas. Comments and suggestions are welcome of course - it's early days yet, so changing things now is much easier than doing them later. Attachment: or3_wip_001.png

That looks awesome! The only suggestion I can make at this point is to change the color of the glow effect on "The One Ring" text in the center. I would grab a light orange from the sky on the right or pull a gold off the ring underneath instead of the default yellow. The think it would look more cohesive. It also looks like each line is its own separate layer and the glow effect is covering the text below it. Are you using Photoshop for that? If so, you can flatten the text layers into one and then apply the effect(s). |

Cool, thanks for the tip Elland. I'll certainly do that. EDIT: 10 minutes later... yep, much better. I'll post an updated picture when there's more to see. |
