Aww, what a cute baby troll in his yellow rompers, playing with his rattles. Though that expression hints that he may need a change soon... :)

Be patient my friend i am not that far yet. I can't do to much at a time, i don't want to mess it up by accidently pushing something down with my finger. I wait till it's hard b4 i sculpt. It's one of the sculpting tips: never do to much at once. :) patience..

I will add some more loincloth on that one side, because the proportions don't look ok on that side.

Been some days since i had time to sculpt. Then i mixed up to much clay. I really hate to waste it. So at first i tryd to use it all on the troll, realising there was way to much i added some on the bases of these uruks. That way me clay hasn't been lost..

How is the troll going? Well so far this is what it has become.

I ll be adding a bag u can see where i am going to place that. Out of the bag there will hang some body parts like an arm or something.
I will do the rest with greenstuff, i noticed today that the milliput was getting to difficult to work with. Lots of his uhm dunno the english name so let's say bubbles on his back are quite big. I hope if i fill the rest with smaller ones it will be ok. It was hard to get some bubbles on his back with the milliput, it came of quite alot. I noticed that happened alot when using water. But the water is needed to smooth it down a bit.

Better and better, wow. Why is there a head on the drum?

Author:  garmenhord [ Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:18 am ]
Post subject:  Re: garmenhords work...

The head is on the drum because i actually liked the idea of him smashing the head of a warrior with his drumsticks. Like enjoying to splat heads, see it as a music school for troll drummers :) I was planning on addy a body for the warrior to but that might be to hard. The lump of clay hanging out of the back will become a hand (lunch).

I must say i am not completly happy with the troll so far, but maybe some painting might help that out.

And a lot of progress you've made! You really shouldn't see some of the horrors I sculpt.

The pikeman look good, tough I wouldn't have chosen green for the colth, but that's different for all of us.
If you want to improve on the next batch, maybe give the pikes another layer of paint before the wash, as they look a bit odd.

Btw, if this is snail-like slowness, what  's speedpainting...
