Some of the nicest Mirkwood Rangers I've seen. Super smooth colours. Love the look of the beige/brown guys. Works very well.

Your painting skills are impressive, the models seem about to move by themselves....both the combination of the colors,the shadoes and the details are literally wonderful,you left me speechless |

Hello everyone. I meant to paint this model for last month's painting competition until I realised today's date. Most of my painting of late has been in a business manner; very methodical and efficient. I had some spare time this evening and thought I would take a much looser approach and paint for enjoyments sake.

Here are 30 dol amroth men at arms I painted for a commission. The shiny armour proved to be quite the challenge and I had to teach my self how to blend to get a result I was happy with. Of course now I'm wondering why I never tried blending before.

Nice work mate. I'm surprised you've never tried blending, infact shocked ! There are a few techniques to try, Painting Buddhas loaded brush is a novel one. I'm going on a course this year with Meg Maples we're she uses a 2 brush technique. That's laying a base colour, quick brush switch to apply the high then let the colours blend as they dry. Then of course wet blending can be a simple way. |
