Very nice job. He's got. Very weather worn look to him, perfect for Strider the Ranger. How's the commission work treating you ? |

Could be better if I'm honest with this year being mostly setbacks. At one point I did consider giving up and applying for the night shift at the amazon warehouse but I kept going and at least my painting improved if not my business sense ![]() I found another Aragorn and painted him up in the same manner just not spending as much time. This is a method very much enjoy but don't have the confidence to use it beyond my own models just yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I wish you every success with the painting and hope it picks up for you. Aragorn looks nice, the two primer I haven't used yet but must give it a go. Looking at him I do think you can push a few extra tiny highlights to really make him stand out more, like his eyebrows, tip of the nose. A couple of spots on the sword. You have a dark and brooding figure that I like and I think just those tiny adjustments will help. If you look at this link, AndyG is a previous Slayer Sword winner and is excellent at this type of thing. His work is always worth looking at for inspiration and ideas. http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/sho ... (pic-heavy)/page123 |

Don't give up Chris. Your painting is far too good not to share with others. Commission painting can be awesome and it an also be pretty stressful especially when you are relying on it as your only source of income. Stay the course! Aragorn looks great. This method of painting reminds me so much of another fantastic painter who i've not seen for a while actually, BizarreWarstar. |

Thanks for the link there's lots of good stuff to admire. I think I need to attend some kind of event so I can see what high quality painting looks like in real life. And yes aragorn could do with more work but this was a quick job early Sunday morning before I did the gardening ![]() |

America seems to have quiet a few events so worth you checking into this. If you ever go on CMoN chase up Dave aka Bailey03 Johnny aka bloodasMedium Ben aka Blood Father of Karnath All three live on America and Dave and Johnny hit the events, both are multiple prize winners. They are all helpful fellas to give you pointers and upcoming events. |

white is very well done, a "color" not easy to get right by most, but you've given it that good looking isengard theme color. |

Lovely smooth transitions Chris. Simple but very effective base, it will be a very strong contender this month. |
