Fantastic work, :yay: love the expression of the first Elf, he looks like he's seen a Balrog.

I agree with GoM, your sculpting is amazing, soon all you'll need to sculpt on is an armiture 8)

Hey all :)
heres an update: :D

Heres the few dwarfs that i have:
when I get some dwarf warriors (next purchase) this will probaly be roughly the colour scheme of them
Image
Image

they dont look so pink in real life

Heres an elfy captain I did up on saturday, I'm very pleased with how his face came out:
Image
Image
Image

as you can probaly see ive added a bag and a pouch to make him look more interesting

and heres the only tools that i do all my scultping with:
Image

They are both made out of hammered nails. The one on the left has lots of good angles for doing faces and such and the one of the right is what I do all my detail work with (such as the chainmail).

I'm very sorry about the slowness of Eomer and Eodaer; my super glue is currently lost  , but heres a bit ive been able to do on Eomer (straps and bag)

thanks for looking all and please feel free to comment :-D

Great painting, but it doesn't compare to your sculpting. I can't get over how awesome that Eomer is. :D

Sid, the results you are getting with a couple of bashed nails makes me wonder what you could achieve if you used proper tools. It would be a wise investment as you have a natural gift for sculpting I can see. 8)

@ukfreddybear, Thanks mate, they are great compliments especially coming from you :D  . yeah, I probaly could do with some proper tools, do you think they would be much better? The one on the right has a pretty fine point...

I'm certainly no expert, but probably have a bit more experience than most here. I think you'd find it easier to hold them at least, but hey, whatever works for you. If you drill out a wooden dowel, you could perhaps slide your homemade tools into the barrel as a handle which may help also.

I have around 30 different shaped sculpting tools, but only use half a dozen of them really, as you get used to using certain ones. Two double ended metal tools, two small clay shapers, a needle point and a fine pointed xacto knife. I'm also still learning with each new sculpt that I do, which is the good thing about this type of hobby. Your skills can only improve with each new project. :)
