I do varnish my stuff - but it doesn't affect colours - only thing it does sometimes is leaving white spots on my figures (i think the varnish takes away paint on some spots - the white showing then would be the basecoat).

ok did two new ones (putted my old ones near it). I painted the bases black by now .. waiting for varnish to dry

I like the green highlights on your wraith makes him look very spectral. The Mines of Moria terrain piece looks like it could be fun to paint ..... keep us updated

Looking good garmenhord. The brown around the edges needs another thin layer or two to stop the grey showing through though. Although I don't think you've finished the edges anyway as the text is still unfinished so if you are still working on the brown, ignore my previous comment :P
