You've done an excellent job on the dwarf's face. It has a real depth of character.

Thanks for all the kind words :)

Really like the purple cloak too :yay:
Might I suggest possibly adding a highlight to the axe haft... imo it looks quite flat

Well done though... it's a thoroughly awesome model and you've done an exceptionally good job :yay: :yay:

Thanks, I did touch up the haft, but it's still a bit flat, I kind of like the way it looks.

The dwarf is fabulous - now you can appreciate why purple was chosen as the symbol of power (that and the ridiculous expense of obtaining the dye itself which came from a species of sea snail). He really catches the eye! Well done!

Interesting fact, I was unaware that it came from sea snails. I guess you never know what you can do with those little critters :-D Thanks for the comment.

The dwarf is now completely finished. I wanted to do something special with the base, but I didn't think about the base until I started on it.

I am happy with the finished result, it was fun to paint too. I've started work on my other dwarf lord as well.

I am not happy with the cloak at all, I'm going to redo it eventually.
C&C welcome.

Thanks!
I noticed on the pictures that the paint on the dwarf looks really grainy, particularly on the ax. I'm not sure why it looks that way because it does not look grainy in real life. The ax also looks bluer in the picture which I actually like, but it unfortunately isn't that way.

Here is what I've been working on recently. Still have the base left but the paint job is for the most part finished. The pics are a bit bright.

I've recently bought 36 haradrim off of ebay as well as a metal oop hashasin. Hopefully I get them this week so I can get started on them, they're some of my favorite mini's in the lotr range. Watch this space

Thanks, I plan on doing something similar to haldir_pl's haradrim army, I really like the way it looks.
Here is the finished Numenorian warrior, and yes, that is a bottlecap base. :)

While I wait for my haradrim to arrive I've been working on some more Morannon orcs, I hope to have some pics up soon.

I'm always impressed with your nmm. If you had said that the helmet was painted with metallic paints I would belive you. The cloak also has some very nice highlighting.

These were loads of fun to paint. I wanted to add a lot of variety in them and just messed around with different colors. Next up, Haradrim Warriors.

I plan on following this scheme with some variation here and there. This specific model wasn't in the best condition, but I think it turned out alright.
Let me know what you guys think.

Well that was disappointing. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to triple post again, but whatever.
Small update today, I decided I should finish my kataphrakts before I start anything new. I haven't done much, just the armor so far.
I've also been messing around with picture set ups because my old set up is no longer available. The pictures of the dwarf are test pictures with a new set up, let me know what you think of it.

Great work pow, love the dwarfs, very imposing.
How are the Easterling riders coming on,? like the grey horse in particular.
That is the plastic set I believe, they also did them in metal.

Thanks Harfoot. The riders are actually already done, you can find pics of them scattered throughout the recent pages of my wip.
I've just finished the kataphrakts and I have to say, I'm really happy with the results. I hope to have some pictures up soon.

I only just finished these and I've been working on them since around when they were first released. So these took me a pretty long time, but I think the wait was worth it. Please let me know what you all think!
