I don't have the superlatives to describe just how awesome that us in so many levels. The envy of the forum I'm sure! And you're going to be sculpting/converting mounted rangers on my behalf... I'm a very lucky boy!

Ah Sid, your replies aren't the same without smileys! :P Thanks a lot for the constant encouragement and interest, brother.

Well I just hope I can pull them off and that you like how they end up, Thermo! But I will strive to do my best, you have my word! Thanks for following my work so closely and trusting me with this job! :)

I've started work on the base and given Gandalf some finishing touches (different scarf, new scabbard colour, lighter highlights to fit the Eagle) as well as painting over any splodges I caused whilst painting Gwaihir.

Nothing too special, just a few rocks out of cork, I think it look pretty good though. Will be adding foliage (static grass, flock, some cool poison ivy stuff...) soon, then I believe this model will be ready for the competition! :D

EDIT: Oh and I'm gonna use Thorin's map as a background more often, it rocks! :D

You should definitely send these photos to GW too, maybe they get published in their daily blog!! That would be awesome and well deserved! :D

That is amazing, the sculpt is fantastic and the paint job is even better in my opinion, easily one of the most attractive eagles i have ever seen :)> You really should send a pic of this to GW they might actually appreciate work that is better then their own :-D not that im criticizing GW or anything, but they really could learn a few lessons from a model like this!!! Keep up the good work :)
