Hey all.
I have done some more painting since last time and have started 17 more WoMT all at the same time: (Still WIP)

Image

Im going to get some osgiliath veterans soon, and i wanted to know if the guy with spear had a shield on his back.
Please comment.
Cheers

Cyndra the Grey

EDIT: I have been looking on the GW website but i cant find the rangers of the north on there. Have they been replaced by the grey company models?

I really like the green colour Scheme for the WoMT and you've done a great job with it. My only crticism is that the armour is too light, investing in the black wash will make the overrall look, look 10 times more impressive!

Also you could always put a shield on the veterans back if it's a problem!
Keep up the good work! :)

Regards
~ Luke

Thanks very much. Are you meaning the last pic of the WoMT or the other pics? In the last one i uploaded i have only done the basecoat on the and haven't used the washes yet. If you mean the other pics my camera gets rid of the washes, which is very annoying. But they all have a badab black wash on them.

Anyway i got bored of doing revision and decided to make some scenery:

They are mostly made from the LotR terrain pack but the paving slabs are made from cereal packet cardboard and one of the ruins has a branch from the citedal woods kit.

C&C welcome. Cheers

Hello everybody its update time.
I have decided to satrt a dunland force and i have made a Dunland battle company: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewto ... 9&start=20

Instead of buying metal wild men i have made my own from WHFB Empire flangellets (not tourney llegal but im not going to do tourneys). But im still gonna buy the metal warriors of dunland.
Anyway onto the pics:

Just 1 tip, Warhammer and LoTR models aren't the same size...
WHFB Models are taller and wider and there will be huge difference when u put them with rest of yours LOTR Dunedains :S

I took your advice Darac and I have scrapped the flagellant idea.

Anyway I have decided to revive this old thread of mine so here is some recent stuff: (My elven recents you can see in the community WIP)

Dunland Great Hall (sort of like the Golden Hall)

Another update!
Done some more on the hall, not much just adding some horizontal beams but I'm running out off lolly sticks so I need some more.

And with some models:

Looking good so far :)
It's starting to remind me of a saxon hall. I can imagine it with a thatched roof and a shield above the door!

I could help you with that...

I really like the way the rangers turned out.

And nice to hear you had a game. Quite a captain it was in the game then! Always nice when your heroes pay themselves off.

Thanks everyone for the kind words its really encouraging.

Agincourt: I could probably use the help as well. Scotland isn't the best place for eating ice cream at this time. I was going for the Saxon/Viking look because in my mind thats what dunlendings are not crazy barbarians.

Dannis: thanks I need to paint some more rangers as well. I also need to go back to my gondor force because I've been using elves in BCs.

PoW: cheers for the kind words

I'll have finished thydran by tomorrow so I'll update then.

Ah a fellow Scot! :D Where bouts are you if you don't mind me asking? Your scenery and terrain is already piecing together nicely. Your going for the Rohan/Saxon stuff. I've been working on that recently too, you can check it out on my thread when you need. Hows this Saxon hall going to look like? maybe a picture off the net to relate it to vaguely or even a drawing if your an artist. I take it will be thatched?Like the Dundean, maybe some highlights on him might work. Difficult to see with the blurry picture.

P.S. It's never to cold for Ice-Cream! :)

I'm about 30mins west of Glasgow in a village called Kilmacolm. And yourself?
I've just checked out your blog now and it's amazing especially helms deep, the stable is coming on nicely as well. Yeh I'll try to scan some concept art tomorrow but I'll find some pics as well. It is going to be thatched, something like in the TT book. Is that how you did yours? I do really need a camera so I'll get one for christmas hopefully. I'm gonna try some highlights on him but probably only on the cloth areas as I'm not that confident with the technique yet.
Thanks for the comment.

I'm just an hour off Aberdeen, pretty much in the middle of Aberdeen + Inverness. Pretty small town as well, Keith. Thanks for the compliment on Helm, it'll get finished once I can be bothered to again. I'm trying to get myself a camera too, but at the moment I'm happy enough sharing. I'm not sure how they did the thatch in the TT book. I used the easy way, by using fake fur and pva'ing it to where you want. Then paint away to your hearts content.
