Well, I thought it looked a little rough. Thanks for the comment though!

Quick update. I did some touching up on Elrond, and completely repainted my goblin captain conversion. I'm really happy with them both. Please let me know what you think1

I really like your Easterling War Priest. I've always liked that model.
Nice job on Elrond's cloak and the goblin looks superb! 8) Is that an arrow stuck in him?

Your Easterlings are very neat painted, how do you paint the armour?

Yeah, I really like the war priest to, and I like it even more now that there's a mounted version.
Yes, that is an arrow stuck in him.

Thanks! The armor was pretty simple. First paint the gold with about a 50/50 mix of Shining Gold, and Scorched Brown. Then wash with Devlan Mud. Re-highlight with the previous mix, followed by pure Shining Gold. For the final highlight I mixed Shining Gold with Mithril Silver and applied it to the brightest points on the armor. If you want to take it a step further you can follow that with Mithril Silver, but I don't like the look of it as much.

Next I think I'm going to get started on Sauron for the painting challenge.

Here is what I've done on Sauron so far.

The script was originally going to be the inscription from the one ring, but after completely failing that, I just painted cool looking squigly lines. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though it could still use with some touch ups  . It's a little hard to see the other free hand stuff on it, but if you can't tell it's Mount Doom. More of him soon(hopefully).
Here are some pics I meant to post a long time ago, but I never got around to it, so here they are. It's my first attempt at Gil-galad before I decided to change it and ended up with what I got.

And just for comparison the finished result.

I think he's pretty much done, unless I think of something else I want to do to him, all that's left is the base.
I also had an urge to paint more goblins, so here are some pics of them. I think they're some of my oldest models I have, and they've been painted several times over by different people, so some of them still have traces of their last paint jobs. Mostly what I've done with them is all the red cloth, and I did a few different skin tones on two or three of them.

Let me know what you guy's think! I would also appreciate constructive criticism, especially regarding the goblins, as I think they need the most work. Thanks!

Sauron is fantastic mate - the great eye and the freehand is brilliant!!!!!

Re. Goblins - they look fine, for goblin skin you could try rotting flesh basecoat followed by devlin mud wash then mix a little bleached bone and rotting flesh for the highlight - it gives a really sickly lookin colour. :)

Thanks! @DMS, thanks for the advice, I'll give it a shot. Here is another update on Sauron. I don't know yet if the base is legal for the competition yet because I wasn't the one that arranged the stuff on it I just painted it, but I really, really hope it is. Any advice is welcome, this is my first time to try something like this, so any suggestions are much appreciated.
