Lovely, interesting colour schemes. I think it's great to be experimental! :)

Sorry dude, but I think your fell beast is disgusting. The light colour brown is OK, but several colour spots are chaos. You should use less different colour, and more shades from one colour.

Keep on!

Well it is. The problem is that the details are lost between the several colour spots. The are not enough contrast. For example, the white wash is absolutely not useful.

Think i will be able to finish the sculpting figure right on time. :-)
Made some time to paint, my comic book drawing work is finished up so i had some more time now. Soon i will start writing the second one tough. Since i am jobless i got in some kind of programm to get me to work, so needs to spend some time on that stuff to. Most evenings filled up with evening school.

Left about 8 more warriors i think. And then 6 on horses. And then i have no backlog anymore. :o

Very pretty Rohirrim. But I thought you'd finally stopped using that weird translucent green...

Sorry, but I really think that colour detracts a lot from your painting.

I really like the browny colour scheme on the Fell beast! 8)

I do agree with telchar though about that bright green... what about toning it down a bit? :)

I love the hobbit... such a cool model :yay: 8) :-D

Quite some activity has been on the wip section, my thread already moved to page 4. Lol, gonna bring some change into that today. Some update on the rohan men.

4 soldiers left + 6 mounted -> last of my stash :-o
Glad i took some time to paint today. My focus has been on drawing lately. Going to have a new comic book on the press soon. If they can still fit it in their production schedule. If so, they will start printing sunday.

Well, I have to agree. The painting skill is there, for example youre Rohan shields look really good. But most colours are not natural, maybe its too artist for us normal people ;) May I ask if this is intended or what is the reason for the colour choices?

Edit: Are you using white undercoating? If yes, I think black undercoating would work much better for you.

The rohan dudes look great!
The painting on them is very clean and neat, well done 8) :yay:
I especially like the colour scheme on no.3 although I think No's 1 and 2 have a few too many colours for my liking but that's personal preference :)

lookin' good though :yay:

Thanks for the explanation regarding the colours.

I would be happy if you would give black undercoating a try! I'm quite sure it would work a little bit better for you, as it is hard to make to colour look smooth with white undercoating.

Not seen you in awhile garmenhorde, a welcome return.

I like the colours you have used on the Rohirrim. The green because it a great colour and the true one, and the red, because they strangley look quite nice in red. The hair is great too.

Not a fan of the blue though...

I started off with a black basecoat tough when i started. But white basecoats are easyr for painting. U just let the paint do it's work. Not to thick layered either. I think i should practice on picking out colours more. Maybe trying out softer colour pallettes. I just hate mixing colours - because i can't find the same colour back again afterwards. :-)

A grey primer might be better for the colours you use. It's easier to cover than black without the brightness of a white undercoat.

Maybe that's a good solution. Usable for the same painting technique as used on white basecoats? But the last mini's remaining are already coated in white. So i think it could take a while till i get to the grey coating.
