That is just ridiculously cool. I love every bit of it. My favorite little detail is the muddy paths and staircases. Orcs don't have time for brooms!

Again, thanks everyone for the support and feedback. Here are photo's for those not inclined to sit through a video. Also have most of the blacksmith area detailed out. The watchers are rough, I will do better ones someday but for now they will work fine. And I just had to set it up fully horded with orcs because...why not? several more things I want to do with this, but will take a break for now to paint mini's.

The dimensions are 40" tall at tower top. Base is 38" x 35". The outer wall is 4" deep with an inner side wall of 24" both sides and outer side of wall is 28" long (making over 4 feet by 4" of outer wall to fill with troops). When I set it on a 4 foot by 4-8 foot board it looks great and I have access to both stairs and can fit a area for shelobs lair. I am happy to have it made up to this point.

I have been making poster style pictures of my converted models, it makes a nice format for them.

A truly epic job that you should be incredibly proud of. Brilliant to see this come together and the finished product.

Post subject:  Re: With King converted

Had an extra WK so I made this. it was a bit of work, had to repace the entire chain. I actually now prefer this stance to the version I converted it from (the flail over head version). I had to remove the shoulder, the entire flail arm. Then pinned the arm back on without a hand, put the plastic sword from the Fellbeast kit, then inverted the flail and put it on the other arm, attached a new length of chain (pinned into holes drilled in the handle and flail pieces), then applied glue to the chain once in position to hold it for painting.

Post subject:  Re: Return to Gundabad painting

Thanks all. Changed shifts at work. Still getting used to it. Back to the Gundabad Orc painting. 4 more down. Kind of rushing bit to get these done.
I think I will go over all the purple cloth on all 38 of these with a dark wash once I get through them all. No matter what I do for shading they come out bright and looking like I only did two layers, even though I did base coat, Shade with very dark grey, then mid and highlight layers...but I may as well have skipped it all and just made it bright ugley pastel purple as that is how it looks. So that will be fixed before the end.

Nice work once again. As for the purple cloth, how about a glaze of Vallejo smoke as a mid tone and some black in the deepest points, I think it will do the trick.

Schedule change has been hectic. I did finally complete all the Gundabad Orcs. Phew. The fun part of choosing what to paint next has begun.
