Thror and I have done that in the Thror's Crusade narrative campaign - which you can check out... somewhere... when Thror puts it on the site or whatever. We have made up Thror Clawhammer and Telcontar as sortof jumped-up captains - who are specifically designed to counteract eachother. |

I'd like to say (slightly belatedly but I'd still like to): Welcome aboard, skully! P.S. True, he is a killing machine when kitted out like that. |

It seems fairly unanimous that Gandalf is too expensive for 500 points. |

eomer fully kitted out on a horse is hard to stop even when fully surrounded by goblins he can still ride though |

i'd say go for Eomer if you can't afford gandalf but maybe you can use gandalf in bigger games, there both good heroes so its hard to make a choice. |

Gandalf isn't really worth his points in an army such as Rohan, which depends on an all-out charge. Gandalf cannot do anything except cast spells, which makes him rather inferior. I think that he should have 2 attacks - after all, he doesn't really worry about getting his hands dirty, does he? |

indeed he does not, but Gandalf is more for a big battle in Gondor. When you put Eomer at the head of a charge he can be the difference maker of battle. and Tel good to see you writing for the OR |

Thank you again guys for all your help. I still bought gandalf for my larger battles as he looks cool and is mounted on the big ebob horse. I use Eomer (smaller games) and a converted rider captain to add a touch of history into my army Thanks for everyones input. |

I made a 500 point army yesterday and I first also wanted to include both Éomer and Gandalf, but Gandalf is really to expensive. But I'm still thinking of buying him once as well. |
