It means that you can upgrade their defence by +1 two times. So, you can roll on the table twice and get +1D, normally you could only do it once.

oh, I think I got it. so it's not +2 defence in one roll but I can get another +1 defence later if I rolled another 2 on the table.

where do you guys get your rules for Battle Companies

the guys i play with and i are gonna start playing battle companies and i only have the old version. i want to update the starting armies and promotion and influence tables. is there a new rule set that includes watchers of kharna, Iron guard and dwarf rangers

I believe that I also have those old rules, but it shouldn't be too difficult to change the rules to include those more elite models.

For example, Dwarves with great weapons could become Khazad Guard and Dwarves with Shields could become Iron Guard.
