| Post subject: | Riders of Rohan bows |
Greetings! Apologies if this has been covered before, I've found some info for the previous editions but want to check. I've been out of the hobby for a while and picked up the Pelennor box set which is great. The riders of Rohan are all armed with bows but I'm aware there's a 1/3 army limit. Is there an exception for the riders (I don't yet have any books besides the main rules), do you only count the ones holding bows as having them ( I seem to remember this from a few years ago) or is this something that applies when constructing army lists but is ignored for the scenarios as given? Thanks in advance! |

Both your first and third guesses are correct. In the current edition, all Riders of Rohan have bows as part of their base wargear and Rohan has a special rule that makes Riders of Rohan not count toward the armies bow limit, either for or against. Additionally, the 33% rule is something that only applies in matched play (the most common way to play pickup and tournament games) and in battle companies. Scenarios are their own thing and will be balanced around the listed participants and scenario special rules rather than relying on the 33% rule. |
