For anyone (like me) whose terrain skills are non-existant, I give you this website http://amera.co.uk/product.php?range=f

They do really cheap terrain including hills, rivers, outcrops, ruins etc etc. I think the most expensive piece is about £10 and that is for a smaller version of Amon Sul. It is made out of vac formed plastic so pretty sturdy and means some pieces can stock for storage.
Have to say, havent dealt with them yet but this terrain was used in the tournament that white wizard and damien ran and it went down a treat.

I just remembered that there is also a review of them here in our Tomes of Wisdom. (Just stay away from the Battle Games by Mail link there, they are long gone).

I was really happy with the way that Amera terrain turned out. I have some of their stuff for use at home (hills, walls and 'Rohan' houses) and it's all nice and durable, super-quick to assemble and easy to paint. You can just use pieces as they are or as a framework to add more bits on. I am thinking about using Teddy Bear fur on the roofs of my houses, but it's not essential. The one I just drybrushed looks fine. The hills and rocky outcrops benefit from a touch of textured paint, but that's optional on the walls and ruins as careful drybrushing will give a nice smooth stone look. I did use textured spray on the walls and ruins I put together for our tournament, but in hindsight I could have saved myself a bit of time and money and not bothered.

For our tournament I ordered 5 sets of ruins, 10 walls and 5 sets of rocky outcrops. It cost a tiny £47 and arrived within a couple of days. Excellent customer service and a great product that's perfect for club use (there's only so many sets of GW's Osgiliath ruins that a gaming club can afford to buy).

I'm really happy that people liked the terrain we used (and very grateful that my GF was so tolerant of a load of scenery in various stages of assembly and painting scattered around our front room for a week). We'll definitely be getting some more of it for the club.

I have a couple of houses and a ruined castle base still unpainted at home. Maybe I'll pimp one of them up for the scenery challenge.

They look really good, that would make an excellent way to create a Rohan village for Isengard to invade for so little money! :)

I have a question, are they hollow at the underside? If not, I can't believe how cheap these are! :o I am so very tempted to buy something.

In difficult economic times like these, cheap suppliers like this are a gift.

Yes, they are made by vacuum forming, where a sheet of plastic is heated and sucked over a mould.

As I read, you have to e-mail them to get the Postage and Packaging rates for non-UK deliveries. Wow I have my eye on a a lot of their scenery, as soon as I finish painting some of my back log. Very nice scenery again and I couldn't believe the prices as well.
