Post subject:  UK HobbyCraft - New source of GW stuff and terrain supplies
I had to go down to my local (Sheffield UK ) HobbyCraft store today and boy was I in for a surprise. It appears that GW have made a deal with HobbyCraft to stock GW goodies. The usual hobby stuff was there and LOTR, Warhammer and 40K boxed figures (see below)

Besides the GW stuff there was a line of called Flames of War - a world war 2 miniatures game (see below)

Also featured was a comprehensive stock of Woodland Scenic stuff that made my old terrain makers heart jump for joy including mouldings for cliff and rock making, stuff to make realistic water, tree armatures, a making scenery book, plaster for modelling etc . (see below)

Finally (no pictures for these) was the existing Hornby Range of model making supplies.

On their website www.hobbycraft.co.uk they state

Brands in selected stores include: Revell, Hornby, Airfix, Italieri, Tamiya, Games Workshop, Woodland Scenics and more...
I imagine it could be well worth a visit to your local store but it's probably worth checking before travelling long distances in case your store doesn't have much.

Yeah Hobbycraft has been stocking GW stuff for quite some time now, though as you mentioned the amount each store has varies considerably.

Definately worth checking it out though, as they don't all seem to have put their prices up as much as GW (e.g they're still selling 24 plastic miniatures for £15 and 6 plastic cavalry miniatures for £12). :)

Woah, I wish we had such a nice gaming store in my town... =o I mean.. Ours is nice and cozy, but err... Haven't quite got everything..

Some people have all the luck, living near such a comprehensive hobby supplier. You can call in and look at the stuff, peer through the packaging, compare brands... and they have FoW as well!

But, oh mighty Goblin, where are the grapes? (the noobs will not understand that one... :lol: )

I recently went to my local one at westwood cross and they had quite a bit of of everything. I found a company called 'gale force 9' who sell all types of flock and glue which are alot cheaper than GW's and their probably better quality. So well worth having a look if you've got one near you! 8)

The other thing to note about Hobby craft is when they have a sale, everything is included, (like toymaster when it used to stock GW stuff).

My local store's up in Bristol, was going to be heading up that way today but change of plans, like I need anything more to paint! ;)

Also there's more to life that GW scenery products, take a look around you'll be pleasantly suprised. 8)

I do like my local Hobby craft. It looks almost identical to the pics you took actually. I tend to use it more than GW these days. Although they are about the same distance from me (5 miles), Hobbycraft has free parking right outside, whereas GW is in the middle of the city where parking is at least 3 quid plus a small walk to the store.
