They look nice. I haven't figured out how I will paint mine just yet as I have no spray paints or a spray gun. I think it will end up a lot of drybrushing to create the effect of different shades.

I was able to pick up the new molds from Woodland Scenic Friday.
I have only been able to make one cast.

River bank

These are very thin. I cast them with hydrocal in a dry mold. I would recommend a mold release. You can see a few of the river bank parts broke. The mold is a stif rubber. I stained the parts with WS pigment before I glued the parts back together to prevent the glue from blemishing the stain.

There seems to be lots of options. I like several of them. I will cut some MDF

Image

This is one casting of the river bank and river bed mold. More than enough for a 3' section of river.

Image

Some stacked river bed. The grid is one inch square. The bridge is Hirst Arts field stone.

Seems like a great way to make a modular river. I watch with interest!

New model

Layout ideas. I trimmed a HA cavern mold cast down to form the mill wheel foundation. I used cast from the same mold for a mill dam and spillway

I have painted the parts. I have to decide if I want this to be a step down section from six inches to two inches or make it wider like my brother has suggested. It will be modular with the river system and bridges and fords.

I do not want to cut off the water wheel so I will probably use Realistic Water and Water Effects.
Suggestions welcome.
What is this for? I have some Hillbilly swamp goblins that need some terrain. I am working toward a simple How to make rivers article.

I really like that insect bug thing that is coming out of the ground. What is it?

I have been working on modular waterfalls for my Dwarven Forge caves.

This is the 2" by 2" falls with a Dungeon Command Tile. The water spray is a marker.

Experiments with markers . You can see the base for a cascade also.
The falls and cascade were created by partially filling a Woodland Scenic rock mold.

I am going to help with Cool Mini or not Expo again this year. So I made island bases for the buildings and repaired some of the terrain. I am going to practice the scenario at Treefort Games this Weekend.

Activates if a figure falls in the water.
move 8
Swim test D6 of 1 dives under the surface until it passes courage test.
D6 of 2-5 half move rate may take jump test to get in a boat.
D6 of 6 full move and may take jump test.
I have been using a defence and strength 4. I may increase the courage to 4 as well. I have not had a reason for them to have more than one wound or courage of greater than 3. I have not allowed them out of the water on to land but could change my mind.

I also considered giving it fate and might and letting it chase a Hook character around.

So you play with a modified(?) version of the SBG rules?

Oh, I assumed SBG because of fate, strength, courage, wounds and so on.
