So here we go after taking a look at the new rules for black guard and the knight of umbar I thought that they would be my next army. here's what I was thinking. The Knight of Umbar 120pts Black Guard Drummer 45pts 14x Black Guard Of Barad-Dur 168pts Orc Warriors 78pts -spears Mordor Troll 150pts -War drums Waht do you think? |

I take it you have 13 orcs (78pts/6) and you have about 39pts left over...till 600. Then that would give you 30 models foe 600pts. I´d say that since you took some elite trooops in already then you should try to get as many cheap orcs as possible. I don´t know exactly what The Knight of Umbar does but I do have some thoughts and as one of the Nazgyl I would keep him. The only thing which I would change is Remove the Troll Drummer, that would give you with left over points aprox. 189 pts, and then i would get 17 orcs and then you woul have 87 pts, left which I would spend to get Black-Uruk Guard Captain. In the end you would have aprox. 45-55 models. |

2 ways to go a. all elites uruk hai, then keep the drummer. but with only one attack even F4 and S4 may not be enough. you can complement them with either siege bows (for missile range) or cavalry (not as crucial since with the drum your base move is 9" already). b. adding orc spears would make the black guards better, but the drums would be largely useless. drop the drummer and add more troops. cavalry might be useful since you might want something faster to flank or grab with. |
