Hello... I am an LOTR SBG beginner and working my collection up to being able to play WOTR someday. Although I enjoy painting my miniatures, my goal is to paint for the table -- defintely not competition standard. I play various historical miniatures wargaming as well, but LOTR SBG is the most enjoyable for me. Thank you everyone for your positive input in making The One Ring a helpful resource to miniatures wargamers of all skill levels. Keep up the good work. :yay:

quick newbie question. What is the dif between table and tournament standard? I just paint so that my guys look good and have an over all theme. I also aim for commonsense Dain is gonna be in better looking armor then say a dwarf warrior :P

Table standard -- my toys, my game, my opinion. If you do not like the way my figures look, you are more than welcome to play with someone else.

Competition standard -- painting competition that is. Way much better than mine. People take the time to build and paint their miniatures with lots of details, shadings, and awesome base decorations resulting in a work of art. Check out Dead Marsh Spectre's work for examples.
