I just saw this tv trailer that I have not seen before!
There's a tiny glimpse of big battles, the eagles and Smaug  !

WOW! Only a glimpse of his wings and fire but still! I think the most amazing bit was the end, was that a shot of Dol-Guldur in Mirkwood at the end? If so why is Gandalf going along when in the appendices the entire council accompany him to oust Sauron, or is this the bit where he "investigates" first then informs them of what he's found?

Gandalf scouted Dol Guldur before the White Council moved against the Necromancer.

Definitely my favorite part of that trailer was Rudolph turning out to be Smaug at the very end!

The architecture of the bridge at the end is definitely Dwarven, so it's not likely to be Dol Guldur.

I say it's definitely Dol Guldur, no other place I can think of would be that run down (that was in the book, they might make Gandalf find the Key in Erebor for all we know).

I'm almost 100% positive that its Smaug is attacking the city of Dale.

The big battle in the middle seems like and army of dwarves agains orcs or goblins. Azog is credited in IMDB so might be the battle od Azanubilzar, outside the Gates of Moria.

The bridge does look of dwarven architecture, but the rest not so much. I'd say its Dol Guldur. I'm not completelly sure its Gandalf in the bridge though. Look carefully to his hat. It seems to be flat (not the pointy one from Gandalf) and has a feather in it. It looks Radagast.

I think its Smaug attacking Dale too. In the production videos they showed us what Dale looked like and its very similar in the trailer.
