Ordered last November, received in June :D

Weta Workshop is doing some 1:30 dioramas, with the first one of Dol Guldur
https://www.wetanz.com/shop/130-scale-d ... dol-guldur

According to the box this came in, there will be four parts to Dol Guldur - the Palantir Courtyard I just received, a colonnade for the background and south & north courtyards to frame it. I am yet undecided on if I will buy the rest or just the colonnade or if I will buy any of the figures that Weta is offering.

The statue holding the palantir is separate, so can be used by itself.

Pictures on the website are probably better that mine but here goes:

While I have the blister of the white council, they are not assembled or painted yet so old style Galadriel and Nazgul :)

Thanks for the scaling pictures. That will look great in your display cabinet.

The scaling actually works really well.

Quite interesting that they do work so well. According to Warlord Games, 28mm is 1/56 scale. They say you can use 1/50 or 1/48 as well. I guess ruins aren't as fussy with scaling.

I feel that terrain should always be a bit oversized (which is my major complaint about the lake town house kit), it just looks better to me somehow. Only comment I have about this piece; is that the palantir itself is too large for the GW figures, if they had painted it like a statue vs the statue holding it, it would have scaled better with GW existing figures. For WETA purposes - it looks great!

Maybe it is just the master palantir and that is why it is larger? I feel a scenario coming on.

Watch "Dol Guldur: Weta Workshop's First Collectible Scene" on YouTube
https://youtu.be/7b-2x7Md7YA - shows the complete diorama as well as the other ringwraiths they plan to make. Now to convince others that the pieces for this diorama make great presents....

Received the second piece of WETA's Dol Guldur Courtyard Diorama this week - the South Courtyard. The North Courtyard is on pre-order on thier website - just have to add it to my budget.

So far three pieces come off the bases, allowing them to be used by themselves.

What I have so far - not quite how they fit together, need the back colonnade to make it work.

Now have the third piece of four - the North Courtyard

No separate pieces on this one, just the base and the walls. The wall is one piece and because of the way it fits on the base, can't just use it on a board without parts of it not touching.

Still impressed with the detail on these, nice weight to them and well packed for storage.

The fourth piece, the colonnade, has been ordered but it will be my christmas gift so I have to wait to put it all together.

Wow, it's gorgeous! The preview video shows off redesigns of the ring wraiths which I found interesting - I wonder if GW will re-release them in that style.

They're amazing but out of my price range so I think some blue will cut it for my display cabinet when I get the new Nazgul after they come out.

Seeing all nine nazgul on Warhammer Community reminded me I hadn't posted the complete diorama from WETA. I received the last piece, the Colonnade from my wife at Christmas.

Now I need to buy the new nazgul and finish painting the Necromancer.

I know that can seem stupid to ask for this, but I have a special request for you Mapper.
Will be posible to have a video around the palantir statue of the courtiyard that shows it clearlly?
I ask this becuase I'm making my own version of the Dol Guldur diorama better feet to scale, but I need the statue in the courtiyard, and in the last times I have managed to use a phogravimetric software to convert images from an object in a stl 3d printable file that I can print with my Ender 3 printer.
I have made this with the statues from Eaglemoss from Helms Deep and the one in Minas Morgul, and I can scale them perfect to size, but to make this I need photos or a 360º video of the object.
If you want contact me by pm and I can esplain more.
