Yes, it does. Yes, it is!

Okay, gentlemen. Here are the standings as of January 2014. Ties were broken by the total number of miniatures painted.

As you may notice, I have awarded the "A Most Audacious Fellow" (and 2 bonus points) award to mertaal for churning out 108 ( :o ) painted miniatures this month on top of an excellent painting challenge entry. Well done, sir! On the other end of the spectrum is the "More Like A Grocer Than A Burglar" award (and 2 point penalty) which goes to Ryle. He was not the only one to regress rather than progress, but that cheeky chap also failed to paint a single miniature this month. For Shame!

If I have miscalculated anyone's points or missed your report, just let me know and I'll edit this post.

If it is not too late I would still like to join in. Part of my new years resolution was already not to buy any more miniatures until I have painted some. So far this year I have not gotten round to painting any but also have not bought anything. Hopefully I can put a bit of a dent in my backlog this year.

This is a great idea and a really good way of whittling down all those sad looking unpainted models on the shelf.

I would love to join starting for this month onwards if possible?

Thanks Erunion, glad to be on board.

Although those 12 Riders of Rohan I just bought have left me a lot of painting to do to make up the points!

Just finished up a bunch of Goblins:

Groblog
Goblin Captain
4 Gundabad Blackshields
18 Goblin Warriors
Goblin Drum

Does this count as 26 (Drum counts as 2) or 27 (including the drum itself)?

Post subject:  Re: 2014 Backlog Reduction Oath

I'd count the drum and drummers as 3 models.

Beautiful! So that's 51 for the month so far, and Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin and Sam base coated and sitting on my desk. :D

Had forgotten about this!
So in January I bought: nothing
And I painted: 11 rangers, 1 40k terminator, Boromir, 1 40k space marine.

Quick question, how many "painting points" would the scribe count? I'm trying to cancel out my spending spree at the start of the month!

3?

Btw, I'm doing terribly this month. My grandmother has been in the hospital and so I haven't been getting ANY painting done.

In January, I only bought 1 miniature, and only painted one! :(

My oath is to paint everything I have and buy as little as possible, the last year has been going well!

What happens with special trades? In my latest trade I gave 3 sculpted Frodo footprint bases... do they count as models? Also we both gave each other suprises... I gave him an extra orc and he gave me 2 riders of Rohan. how do these work points wise?

Author:  Erunion [ Mon Feb 17, 2014 3:20 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: 2014 Backlog Reduction Oath

Something like that I'll leave up to you. If you feel like the trade increased your backlog, then count it against you. If you feel like you pretty well broke even, then don't worry about it.
