I have been looking forward to seeing this one for a few months, and it was well worth the wait. Fantastic diorama and a thoroughly detailed guide, very clearly illustrated.

Its wonderful to see this piece finally complete. The choice of poses are all so natural and fit into this diorama with very little work needed. The scene has been captured perfectly, bravo!

I'd like to see more photos of the whole thing from different angles and some of the images could do with being a touch larger, but other than those minor quibbles, I think the article itself is a great one.

what a great guide!
it all seems so clear and logical when you read and see (thanks to the many pics!) it, but only Brian's brain, fantasy and experience together with the skills makes this possible at all.
all those ideas... the staircase from triangles that runs into distance, the 3-dimensional gates with patterns, the headswapping, the skeleton and book on the stairs, the little torch, ... This article is a pleasure to read and a wonderful inspiration!

Lovely work Brian,

Another article that could only ever have come from you, Brian. The quality of the article, the unique and exceptional painting, the imagination you have! Magnificent!

I was just posting in the work in progress forum (I tried my hand at your paint station conversion), and mentioned there how even your early articles still amaze me.

The diorama is magnificent, to be sure, but the painting of the minis is amazing on it's own. The shading/highlighting on that Frodo is breathtaking. His pants in particular. I stared at that picture for some time, trying to see the brush strokes, imagine how it was done. Perfection, mate, sheer perfection. :)

Thanx for the kind comments guys, but I have to say...I simply dont like it.

I was really into it when I started it, but by the time I was 3 quarters of the way through, I simply lost interest.

I dont think I will be keeping this one.
