Great article mate and also a fantastic piece of terrain. I own one of these and it is a marvellous piece of work. One day I will get around to painting it.

10/10 for the article - very clear photos and explanations.

We have round forts near home - I can see this one as I type -

Very Weathertopish in aspect, with stunning views over Derry, Donegal, and Tyrone.

Honestly, I've not seen a better scratch-built model than this one. This sets the benchmark as far as I'm concerned.

Brilliant work! and the photos really told the story well. I must try your techniques for stonework - I have been doing things the same old way for ages now and it's become a chore. Your way looks just as time consuming as my Polyfilla/scriber technique, but I think your results look more realistic than mine.

That's a lot of sculpting work... however, it was well worth it, as the finished product looks fantastic! :D

Seldomly do articles come along that need virtually no work done to them. The presentation is spot on, the quality of the images are nigh on perfect and the grammar needed little work, but most of all...what an excellent article ! Nice Job !!!

Post subject:  Writing Articles

:D Thank you, everyone, for all your encouraging comments.

I do enjoy writing articles and feel it's worth the effort putting in the necessary time to make them good in all respects - which makes things so much easier for the administrators. I shudder to think that any changes had to be made to the grammar at all!

Ideas for other articles, which may be of interest, are often in my mind so hopefully there'll be another for you to read in the next six months.

Kind regards,
Natarn.

Wow, excellent article. The time, effort, and detail that you put into both the project itself and the article is very admirable. I love the step-by-step pictures.
Very inspirational and informative.

This piece is awesome! I wish I could make something like This! :) How did you make a mould from it? I dont have any big tools so if you could tell me how that would be awesome!

:D I have just finished an article on how to make a mould and casts. It is being proofread and will hopefully be published shortly.

A fascinating read, and a superb end-product!

I am inspired by the sheer energy that went into this, taking the time to get everything right. It really looks magnificent!

Superb in all respects.... and I've been pondering how best to represent realistic 'ruined' paving stones for my current project... now I know exactly how this can be done most effectively.

I have a lot of dry-stone walls at my cottage and I looked out of the windows and thought..... they're my walls (same colour and same state of repair  ), simply superb.
