At least they are breaking the releases up a bit! But yes, an exciting but expensive time for us all ha!

It's been confirmed on facebook that the models marked as "made-to-order" on the Community article (eg. Moria goblins, dragon) are actually returning to the standard range and won't just be made-to-order for one week.

That makes sense, as they had said in a previous article that they would be coming back into the main range for a while.

It would have been a bit much to come out all at once otherwise I think! Possibly the Defence of the North book got stuck in the shipping from China or something and they held up a lot of releases until they had the stock ready to go.

Is it normally Saturday at 10am (uk time) new releases drop? It's been a while so don't recall

Yes, normally 10am Saturday for Games Workshop (eg. Moria) although they might release the Forge World (eg. Dale) a different day maybe. I think Forgeworld is often sort of Thursdays/Fridays?

Always nice to have another book. I join y'all in fearing that this is going to be an expensive one!

Pre ordered Ashrak and that's it! Been waiting forever to get that figure. While tempted on other items, that is the one I really wanted. Will get the book from a local game store.

I hadn't bought anything in a while, so I took the plunge for the new Easterlings. I thought I was prepped for high prices, but .... wow.

I definitely had to think two or three times before clicking the Place Order button.

I am happy so many old and new things arrive in the shop. But even though I was not planning to buy anything from it, I am shocked by the prices.

They may or not may not be justified. That the emperor was gonna be a big piece was clear and the new black dragons are not mandatory to play black dragons. But still I makes me wonder where our hobby is heading because if this new price level will take over, I and probably a lot of other people won't be able to keep up.

I think it depends on the individual and how they view MESGB. The collector is going to spend the money no matter what. The competitive GW tournament player will probably focus on which army will do the best and still pay. The casual tournament player will probably do what army he likes the best and pay accordingly. The painter will buy what they find challenging or what they like. The casual player (friends or solo) will buy what they can afford and admire and shake their heads at the rest.

It's the new player that the prices will affect the most. It's an expensive hobby but if you aren't tied down to GW and WETA's vision of LOTR there are less expensive ways to immerse into Middle Earth.

My two cents.
